On 9 May, an online event was staged to raise funds for Colac Area Health Foundation. Band Together Colac, arranged by Zoe Hudgell from Red Door Dance and Theatre Co and Nick Moloney Productions, brought together some of the region’s best musicians and performers. Revellers could live stream the entertainment and also donate to purchase a new Cardiac Monitor. On the night almost $12,000 was raised to purchase the new monitor which was installed this week.
Nurse Unit Manager, Leah Barrow, said ‘This monitor replaces outdated equipment. Many of our patients present with chest pain, cardiac related illness or respiratory problems. Being able to assess these patients with the most up to date equipment is extremely important. This equipment is also used for patients who have COVID-19 or who are suspected of having COVID-19.
