Last week ACN was overwhelmed by the response from Australia’s nurses following the announcement that the Australian Government would provide 1,000 scholarships for Registered Nurses to undertake ACN’s online Refresher Program.
When we were speaking with our nursing community, Enrolled Nurses working in non-clinical roles wanting to return to the front line told us very clearly that they would also like an opportunity to contribute more actively to the delivery of care.
In light of this feedback and expected demand on industry during COVID-19, the Australian College of Nursing (ACN) is offering 250 scholarships for the ACN Refresher Program for Enrolled Nurses.
This training course will allow Enrolled Nurses who are currently practising in non-clinical roles to refresh their acute care knowledge, in order to provide support in response to COVID-19.
The program is targeted to Enrolled Nurses who currently hold general registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who meet the Recency of Practice Registration Standard of three (3) months practice in the last five (5) years.
Scholarships will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants.
